Hey everyone! I am SOOOOO excited to share these photos with you! You might remember during halloween that I mentioned I was doing a photoshoot for my dia de los muertos sugar skull look. Well, I got the photos in today from the photographer and I can't even believe that these are of ME!

It was really different being in front of the camera! I spend my day's behind the camera doing makeup on other people, so this was really fun!

Thank you so much to Amanda of R.I.Studios Photography for shooting some AMAZING pics! I am just speechless!!

Oh, and Thank You to my girly Monica for driving me across town while I was in my full makeup...we didn't want to have anyone get in a wreck seeing me driving down the street a week before Halloween looking like that! lol

Halloween Costume Ideas 2011 : Dia De Los Muertos (day of the dead) Sugar Skull

Hey everyone! WOW, I am so freaking excited about sharing this tutorial with you all! So this is my actual costume I am wearing this year, a Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, Sugar Skull. I had an amazing time doing the tutorial, but I also had the BEST TIME doing a Photoshoot for the look with an AMAZING photographer! As the photos trickle in, I promise to post them!! But I couldn't wait to show it to you all!! So if you would like to see how this super awesome look is accomplished, then watch the tutorial below, and for a list of the products I used, look just below the tutorial! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! :)

TUTORIAL:

PRODUCTS USED:
- NYC jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Milk or any white face paint
- white powder or eyeshadow (I used mine our of my coastal scents contour and blush palette)
- NYX jumbo e/s pencil in black bean
- black eyeshadow of choice (I used the one out of my origianl 88 palette)
- white eyeshadow of choice (I used the white in the ELF quad in Drama)
- NYX ultra pearl mania shadow in Torquise Pearl
- Mixing medium such as MAC Fix+ or ELF Studio setting spray (or you can just use water)
- Black pencil eyeliner (use one that is very smoooth...I am using one from Essence)
- Lengthening Mascara (Maybelline XXL)
- Red eyeshadow (mine is out of the same 88 palette)
- Red eyeshadow base or Red lipstick (I used one from NYC)
- Glitter pen's in red and blue (you can also use sequins or rhinestones)
- Temporary Tattoo's (the ones I used are available at Walmart in the Halloween section for $1.98)

FOR THE HAIR:
For my hair, I slicked back the sides and did a very large poof in the front. Then I stuck several flowers on to one side.

FOR THE COSTUME:
Well, I wore a designer gown for my photoshoot! lol But for Halloween, make sure to wear black, lots of lace, and possibly a veil if your going as a widow.

I love her style because it's a kind of "I dont give a damn what you think, Im gonna do what I want" sort of vibe...a girl after my own heart! lol But this is a look you can only pull off on Halloween, which I LOVE! So this post has nothing to do with beauty....except for the fact that I am rocking the slicked back ponytail and no makeup. Why you ask? Well...that's because its 107 degrees here in Austin and my AC in my car went out yesterday! What the frig? I can't stand driving with no AC when its that hot! Did I mention that my car is black and has all black leather seats? LOL Anyway, I just thought I would get this off my chest since I needed to rant a little bit! Thanks for letting me share! LOL!! This is another cheap nail tutorial, I know you all have been asking me for these FOREVER!! So here they are! This is a grey summer floral nail tutorial with fun dots and flowers....it may look complicated, but trust me, it's SO easy!

To get started you will need:

You Nailed It: 4th of July Nails

Happy 4th of July....err....almost! Time to get those nails POPPIN with a tutorial for THREE, yes, I said THREE...diferent designs for Independance Day!

Check out the three looks here, and then see how to do them in the video tutorial below! :)

The Items that you will need for this tutorial are:
- A White nail polish (I used wet 'n wild white)
- A Red nail polish (I used OPI thanks so muchness from the Alice in Wonderland collection)
- A Blue nail polish (I used Sally Hansen HD polish in Blu, but a GREAT color to use in NYC in Skin Tight Denim)
- Nail stripers in white, red glitter, blue glitter, and silver glitter
- Rhinestones and tweezers (optional)
- Glitter Top Coat (Optional, I used NYC White Lights Glitter)
- OPI clear Top Coat
- A nail art brush (optional)
- A toothpick, or very small dotting tool

Naked, Nude, and Bare

Ok, I am REALLY nervous about the kind of traffic I might get from the title of this post! lol While I am not naked, nude, or bare....I am talking about makeup palettes that ARE! The trend for neutral smokey eyes is so hot right now, I wanted to show you all a few different options when it came to palettes that promise this look!

First up is the EVER loved Urban Decay Naked Palette.
Retail: $48.00

The UD Naked Palette is 12 beautiful neutral shades that range in finish from shimmer to satin to matte. Included in the palette is a sample size of their ever famous UDPP (Urban Decay Primer Potion) and an eyeshadow brush. I know for a while it also came with a double ended 24/7 liner duo, but I don't think that is included anymore (bummer!). Another upside is that it has a decent sized mirror in the palette! The only con's I see are the price, and that I know some of the shades have quite a bit of fall out, but most smokey shades do!

Up next is the NYX cosmetics Nude on Nude Palette.

Do not adjust your screens, this palette really does mimic the Naked palette a WHOLE bunch! However, for the $25 price tag, you are getting 20 eyeshadow shades, PLUS 10 lip colors that go great with many different looks! Like the naked palette, it does have a mirror inside, and two applicators, one for eyes and one for lips.

Last but certainly NOT least is the Sigma eyeshadow palette in Bare.
Retail: $35.00

This palette has 8 beautiful shades, perfect for any neutral look from dark and smokey to soft and natural. Not only are the shades really beautiful, but this palette comes with a dual ended Sigma brush with an E30 on one end and an E25 on the other. The $35 price tag justifies the brush alone for me, so the shadows would be a bonus!

Sigma KNOWS what they are doing when it comes to brushes! I own several of them, and they are AWESOME! So when the Dry'n Shape came out I was so excited! I usually wash my brushes and then let them dry overnight. But if you are working a gig and you need them clean and dry within a few hours, or if your brushes lose shape while they are drying, this system is awesome! It dries your brushes in the perfect shape in 4-6 hours!

Hey Everyone! This is a repost but with a video to help guide you! I originally just posted the photos, but thought a video would help you in the process! So here is the video....

I was so sad on Tuesday when I went to go fix my makeup for the day and I dropped my new blush from ELF! It only broke a little, so I was ok, but then when I moved the pan upside down (STUPID MOVE!!) the entire blush fell out and crumbled all over my counter!

Since I didn't want to order a new one and I really love this blush, I decided to rescue it! This is a great way to save your eye shadows and/or blushes when they are cracked or have completely shattered!
Just follow the steps below:

Step 1: Fold a clean sheet of paper in half then dump out all of the product on to the paper. Then, crush it up even more so that there are no large chunks. (I used the flat end of a chopstick!)

Step 2: Use the paper to help you guide the product back into the pan or container.

Step 3: Next, you will need some rubbing alcohol (do not try with peroxide, it will not work, only alcohol will work!) Put a few drops into a syringe or a dropper and add a couple of drops at a time to the product.

Step 4: With a sanitized end of your chopstick (or whatever you are using) blend the powder with the alcohol to make a paste.

Step 5: Use some plastic wrap to help you gently move the product back into place in the pan.

Now your product should look something like this:

Step 6: Clean off your edges really well and allow product to sit out for 24 hours BEFORE USE! This allows the alcohol to evaporate out and for the powder to become stiff and ready to use!

Ok, seriously....Its the first day and I didnt get a picture of what I was wearing!! I am a little out of practice on doing my pictures, plus it was in the 20s and so windy that my tripod would have blown over! So I need to figure out a way for indoor photos too! I hope you all can forgive me! Are we still friends? Good! hehe

Hey Everyone! So to keep up with my pledge to you guys about doing my daily outfit posts, I went on a quest for some inspiration from other bloggers. In the quest, I came upon Kendi at Kendi Everyday and she has a 30 for 30 remix challenge. To read even more about it, just click the icon above for her blog post on it, but basically you pick out 30 items (shoes included) from your closet, and remix them into 30 outfits for 30 days....the kicker...you CAN NOT shop for the 30 days!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!! Ok, heart attack is over, I can do this! (I think I can, I think I can....)

So in the next couple of days, I will be working on the 30 items I want to use, and then I will show them to you. On February 1st, I will start my remix and continue for the next 30 days! So I am REALLY going to try to get back into my daily outfit posts! I know you all love them so much, I really want to get it up and running! I have class EARLY in the mornings....like 7:40 early....so I might take them when I get home around 11ish...so I need to figure out my lighting! Since I am in my new place, I need to try out some different backgrounds so I will get that worked out this weekend and then get the pics going! ALSO....I got all my new stuff for my room EXCEPT my bedding, so I will get that ordered ASAP so I can show off the room for you all! I need to unpack my makeup stuff cause right now its in a HUGE box! LOL!!! Like the biggest box I brought with me, so sad.... lol YAY for getting my junk together this year! Starting the New Year...CHOOSE MY ROOM!!

Hey Everyone!

WOW...the new year has come and gone and I feel like such a slacker! Actually, I havent posted any videos or blogs because I MOVED over Christmas Break!!!! The room above is actually the room I am blogging from right now, isnt it beautiful? I love it here! So I wont have any new videos for a bit until I can get completly unpacked and in order to do that I am going to buy myself ALL brand new furniture for my room! I am SOOOOO excited! :) So I thought I would do a little post showing you the ideas I have for my room and you all can let me know what you think!

In my room at my parents house, I had tan walls and an earthy tone color palette. Here I want to have bright fun colored accents with all white furniture...very clean and girly! So here are some ideas I have for the new room:

BED
My daughter actually has this bed in her room at our new place and I love it so much, I thought I would copy her and get the same one! It's from IKEA and its called the LEIRVIK. It retails for $89.99 (for the FULL size)

BEDSIDE TABLE
Then for a bedside table, I have two options that I can't decide on....the only thing holding me back on the mirrored option is that it will be in a corner and you probably wont even be able to see it! :( Bummer...but let me know what you guys think!

This mirrored option is from Target and is $89.99

and this is the plain option, but larger, from IKEA, its called LACK, and is $7.99!

DESK/VANITY
I also have two options when it comes to my desk and my vanity. I can either do two seperate desks on opposite sides of the room, or I can do one corner size desk for both my makeup tutorials and school work!

Here is the option if I do two desks, also from IKEA, called VIKA AMON/VIKA CURRY, and they are $19.99 a piece

OR, I can go with the corner VIKA AMON/VIKA CURRY table, which is $57.49

CHAIR(S)
and the chair(s) that I want to go with the table(s) look like this, the SNILLE, and they are $19.99 a piece. (I LOVE the pink!)

BEDDING:
As far as bedding goes, I can't decide between all white bedding with pillows in bright colors like Pink, Green, Torquise, Orange, etc.
OR if I want something with some more color in the bedding?

Nails of the Day: Vintage Grey from CQ

Hey Everyone! So posting is a little slow this week, being the first week of classes and all! But I will get back into the swing of things next week, I promise! I have some AMAZING reviews for you all, some really fun tutorials that are centered around Fall trends and SO much more!! :) SO EXCITED!! hehe

Ok, onto the nails! So the greige (grey/beige) trend for nails continues! These colors are more grey than the mushroom-y colors we have seen before, like the Commander in Chic from Sally Hansen. But I really love the lighter color on my complexion!

This color is from CQ, which can be found at Walmart for just under $2.00 per bottle! They have some amazing colors, so I can't wait to try more!

The formula was awesome! No streaking, and only needed 2 light coats! I have been wearing this formula on my nails for a week now and BARELY have any tip wear, and no chipping!

The polish itself dries rather matte, just a tiny hint of light, but not really a shine, which I really like!
