So, Valentines day is really just like any other day for me, but I had a wonderful time at Church with all my friends and had a wonderful "Love Day"! :)
But, I was listening to some girls talk before service started and they were saying that they wish they had boyfriends for tonight and if they only lost some weight or were prettier, etc. they would have them....This made me SOOOOO sad!!
I know that we all have issues with who we are, but if you dont learn to love yourself, then no one will be able to love you for who you are!
So I thought I would let you hear this song that was placed on my heart, because believe me, I have been through every situation it talks about. Having an eating disorder, being raped and abused in relationships, thinking I am not enough...but guess what...YOU ARE ENOUGH just the way you are!! :)
I love all of you chickadees that read my blog! ENJOY!!! AND HAPPY LOVE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine Says she wants to look that way But her hair isn't straight her body isn't fake And she's always felt overweight
Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see That beauty is within your heart And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair Are perfect just the way they are
(CHORUS) There could never be a more beautiful you Don't buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do So there could never be a more beautiful you
Little girl twenty-one the things that you've already done Anything to get ahead And you say you've got a man but he's got another plan Only wants what you'll do instead
Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come You starve yourself to play the part But I can promise you there's a man whose love is true And he'll treat you like the jewel you are
(CHORUS)
So turn around you're not too far To back away be who you are To change your path go another way It's not too late you can be saved If you feel depressed with past regrets The shameful nights hope to forget Can disappear they can all be washed away By the one who's strong can right your wrongs Can rid your fears dry all your tears And change the way you look at this big world He will take your dark distorted view And with His light He will show you truth And again you'll see through the eyes of a little girl
(CHORUS) There could never be a more beautiful you
Hey Everyone! As you may remember, I showed a valentines look the other day but I didn't have any photos!
Well the photos of the look as well as the tutorial are LIVE over at Fashion Court! I was so honored when Tiffany asked me to be part of her Valentines day count down series called Conversation Hearts!
Quick note ladies! make sure you update your google readers with the new address if you follow me so you can see my updates! :) I know some people were having a problem with this!
This necklace is inspired by a necklace I saw at Torrid for $12.00, however, there were so many things wrong with their version, I just knew I had to make my own!
The chain was too short (and gold, which I don't wear much of) and the bows all looked like they were about to fall apart! (plus it only came in black!) So here is my version that you can make on any kind of chain, any length you want, and almost any color bow you could imagine!
check out the how-to here and be sure to look below for photos and materials!
Materials Needed: bows in any color you want from My Moments by Offray (found at walmart for $2.49 for a 2 pack...can be found in the craft section by the fabric) chain (any length, again, found at walmart for $1.97) a safety pin *optional, hot glue gun
Here are some photos of me wearing the necklace here on the blog:
So I decided to do an entire makeup series on the ELF quads from eyeslipsface.com. All of these quads are $1 each!! NO JOKE! For 4 eyeshadow colors! Such a steal and they are great quality!
So the first installment is in the quad butternut (found here) It's a beautiful brown smokey eye that you can wear everyday! I do all the time and always get compliments!
here are some photos of the final look!
So watch the tutorial here and scroll down to see everything I used!
Items used: ELF all over cover stick in Honey ELF butternut quad ELF waterproof eyeliner pen in Black ELF Studio waterproof lengthening and volumizing mascara
face: ELF warm tan bronzer (contour) ELF studio peachy keen blush (on cheek bones) ELF shy blush (on apples) ELF bronzing powder in luminence (highlight)
lips: Wet n' wild 547B lipstick ELF sugar kiss lipgloss in starlit
So everyone...what do you think?!?! I am LOVING the new address (make sure to set your bookmarks!!) and the rotating headers! So much fun! Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment on this post!!
So, for a nail of the day post...I haven't had one of these in FOREVER, because I am almost always sporting a french manicure! But this week I was flipping through a magazine and saw this putty color and went crazy! I literally put down the magazine grabbed my keys and ran to Target to find it! hehe (lucky me, they had it!)
This color is Sally Hansen in Commander in Chic (LOVE THAT!) here is the bottle:
here it is on the nails: (its showing a little dark here, but its still beautiful!!)
Also...did you know its an exact dupe for Chanel Particulière (coming in at $22 per bottle!!) (it's the one on the far left)
So at just $6.50 a bottle at Target, this is a WAY better deal! Now I applied three quick coats with no top coat and it is the perfect balance between shiny and matte, I love it!
So, LOTS of info in one post, but that's totally OK with me! :) (seriously, that took me like 5 minutes to type that sentence because I am so tired my hands can't hit the right keys! hehe)
Anyway...so TODAY IS THE DAY of my big blog changes! The new address will be going up tonight, as well as some design changes! I can't wait to see what you all think!! (make sure to let me know in the comments when it's all finished!)
Next is my outfit from Monday (yesterday I forgot to take a photo! sorry!!)
what I wore: (using Kimberly's inspiration calendar for Feb. it called for leopard on Monday) leopard cardi: Goodwill, $4.99 Black Tank: Old Navy, $2.00 Ruffle Tank: Target, $3.99 Jeans: Old Navy, $7.00 Boots: Torrid, $62.00 Necklace: Claires, $1.00
