Nails of the Day: Leopard Nails...RWAR!!!!!

That's right Baby!! Leopard nails this week! I'm really breaking out of my shell with this one! :)

OK, so I did this look using:
Gold base color: Pure Ice in Jaguar $1.99 @ Walmart
spots: Revlon color chrome in Copper Chrome (I don't know if you can get this anymore but a metallic dark gold/brown tone will work well
Black: L.A.Colors Art Deco in Black $1.00 @ Family Dollar

I followed the bargain princess' tutorial here: http://xo-bargainprincess.blogspot.com/2009/07/cheetah-licious-nails.html

but I used the brush from the art deco to make the black, not a tooth pick, and for the spots, I used a brush from Masters Touch that I picked up at Hobby Lobby when it was 40% off.

It's the Masters Touch 6070 tight spot detailer (its got a clear handle and is angled at the top)

So get your RWAR on this summer with some fabo leopard nails!!

  Sunday Inspiration

Sunday's look was really easy to put together. I love the combo of grey and purple, and I had just found this grey cardi at Goodwill last week, throw on a purple top, and your set to go! :)

What I am wearing:
Grey Cardi: Goodwill $4.99
Purple Top: Ross $6.99
Jeans: Walmart $12.99 (these are new and a little to large, so I think I'm going to exchange them for the next size down!!)
Necklace: I actually got this for my mom for Mothers day at Kohls. I think it was around $5.00!! It is beautiful, looks like an antique broach :)
Shoes: Goodwill $6.99

  Show us your Wedding Dress

So, I LOVE reading Kelly's blog over at Kelly's Korner. I started following her when she was going through her pregnancy and had such a life changing experience when her beautiful daughter, Harper was born and almost didn't make it! She is an amazing women, mother, wife, and Chrisian. Well, she has done some amazing blog tags with all of her readers showing off their houses and the rooms in them, but now she is doing a "Show us your life" series...this week...Show us your WEDDING DRESS!!

My sister showed off her dress here: http://becausebrittsaysso.blogspot.com/2009/07/show-us-your-life-wedding-dress.html

Now, she said single girls could play along and show our dream wedding dress! So that is what I am going to do!
I have always LOVED this dress from Monique lhuillier. She is such a talented designer!

Below is the same one with a slightly different bodice that Pink wore on her wedding day.

Infact, this dress is so famous, they even created a barbie doll that wears it!!

I think it is just beautiful and simple with the brown sash and antique broach...SO ME! So this is what I want to wear on my wedding day... No being cheap here! These dresses can run between $2000-$5000!!! WOW! :)

So go over to Kelly's Korner and show off your wedding dress, or dream dress! :)

What I am wearing today:

  Bump it up!

So for church today I decided that I wanted to do my hair a certain way using my bumpits. (if you don't know what a bumpit is, you can search it on google. They are little plastic things you stick in your hair to help keep the volume without having to do a ton of teasing)
I have had these for a long time, but I never take the time to play around with them. And since my hair is finally getting long enough to do something with it, I decided to use two of them, the small one in my bangs and a regular size in the second bump, to give some funky volume a la modern day Audrey Hepburn! :)

What I wore today:
Black maxi dress: Ross $12.99
Cardigan: Goodwill $4.99
Shoes: Burlington $9.99
Necklace: Kohls $6.99 (I actually gave this to my mom for Mothers day and she loves it so much that I took the tags off of it this morning! lol So I wore it for the first time! hehe)

Here are some detail shots of my hair style for today! Let me know what you think in the comments section!! :)

Nails of the Day: French Mani with a Rock n' roll twist!

Nails today are a french manicure with a twist! I love these two colors together in fashion and in makeup, so I thought, why not in nails? You could really do this with any two colors and make it look awesome! (and if your scared of it on your hands, remember to give some french tip love to those little piggies!! If you don't like it you can always wear socks! lol)

The colors I used are actually limited editions from Ulta, but I found DIRECT DUPES to them from NYC.
The Black is: Black Lace Creme
and the Pink is: Pink Promenade Creme

if your not good at free handing french tips, pick up some of those little tape like guides in the nail section at your local beauty supply store, drug store, or grocery store. They are awesome!!

  Friday night Lights

Look at how cute "L" looks today! We were off to Bible study (week 8 of financial peace! WHOO HOO!!) and she wanted in the picture with momma! Isn't she so sassy in her tank and white jeans? I wish they made that tank in my size (and my price range, my mom bought it for her for like $30!!--I think she's insane when it comes to spoiling her grandchild!)

Anyway, here is what I wore today:
(not like you care with such a cutie patootie next to me!)
Black T-shirt: Dots $6.00
Jeans: Lane Bryant $12.99 (PLEASE Lord let me find some new jeans in a size that fits, all of mine are falling off my behind!)
Shoes: Target $6.26
Scarf: EBay (rayspeed12388) $6.25 with shipping

Nails of the Day: N.Y.C rocks the summer!!

I L-O-V-E this color on my nails! Beautiful and bright!
It is Times Square Tangerine Creme from N.Y.C!

And believe it or not...it's only ONE COAT!! Yeah! I know! This formula is not streaky or anything...one coat and I was good to go!

These usually retail for $0.99 a bottle, but my local grocery store had a $0.50 coupon, so I got it for 49 CENTS!!! awesome!! :)

Oh, and this nail polish is an EXACT DUPE to O.P.I in "Nicole Alert"
My daughter gave Nicole Alert to me for mothers day, and these colors are like the exact same! (oh, unless you like having to do three coats of OPI to get the same color as this!) So save yourself the $8.50 and get the NYC!!

this looked cuter in my head!

You ever have one of those days where you think something will look great together....until you have it on and its too late to change? Well that was me today! I love my hair and makeup...HATE the outfit! lol WHAT WAS I THINKING? Oh well, you win some you loose some!
